Questionable science + web page = SCAM!  

Anything that sounds too good to be true usually is.  Perhaps you should read up on the subject yourself instead of believing everything any one with a web page tells you.

Why did people use pay phones and phones connected to their walls at home in the not so distant past?

Certainly not because cell phones weren't possible...only because the vast majority could not make one themselves thus had to wait until society deemed it possible and/or profitable.

You are ahead of your time...in the not so distant future school kids will ask the same question...except in the past tense...just like I just did about the phones!

And because the machines are "risky" -- some of them work, but you know, they're weird.  People in our society hate to be nonconformist.  

Building inspectors don't like nonconformists either, they don't know how to inspect weird stuff so they usually just disallow it.  

And some of it just plain doesn't work.  Fortunately anyone who didn't flunk science can tell the difference.
