I think everyone is proud of where they come from....its not jsut scottish people. The way you asked this question kinda sounds like you dont think you should be?

I am American but, my ancestors were Scots and I think that Scots and their country is fascinating. I would love to live somewhere that had so much history or to listen to stories from my grandparents about the country's history. I love living in America but, I would like to move to Europe oneday because of the history that you can experience there and not here.

I read somewhere a long time ago that proportionally for it's size Scotland had been the Birthplace of a great many 'Movers&Shakers' inthe 20th Century - Politicians / Engineers / Scientists and so on.

That and the fact that the Scots are a widely dispersed group globally.

actually took me a minute to think of an answer and i cant really put my finger on why.. all i know is when a nice scots song comes on, i get this feeling in my body and i know its pride!!!

I think it applies to all countries, where ever someone comes from they are proud of. There are so many great things about the country.

i think it is because we are scots think about our beautiful country side most of the people are welcoming the water is the best and we have some of the best inventors ever why should we not be proud

Because we've had a look at our nearest neighbours, and we don't particuarly like what we see! That's for starters. Seriously, because we have always been a proud people, and previous generations have always stood up to protect the Scottish identity, we have a duty to preserve the tradition. Wha' daur meddle wi' me? Here's tae us - wha's like us?!!
