  1. I thought God frowned on pride? Millions of innocent children across the globe are beaten, raped, starved and enslaved, but you (in your arrogance) think God blesses you and not them. They deserve so much more  than you do and they'll never get it. Enjoy living in lala land and telling yourself you're more special than innocent babies who have never experienced love let alone pride and arrogance .

  2. Because GOD IS GOOD~~

  3. because we have been given life, and the opportunity to spend eternity with God

I thank him for the good times as well as the bad times, because without the bad I probably wouldn't have turned to him, and my faith wouldn't be as strong

    thank you Lord

  4. Ummm could it be Salvation?

  5. I hear what you're saying Gary, I'm so thankful for the freedoms we have!  But, if we think about it, Jesus Christ has given us a kind of freedom no human gov't can deny or take away from us.  The beauty of the gospel is that, even if you live in some communist oppressed country, where you can't build a Bible believing church, you can still find freedom and peace in Christ.

This life is like a vapor.  It comes and goes so quickly.  If we know Christ, this life is as bad as it gets for us.  For all of those who have not repented and trusted the Savior, this life is as good as it gets.

  6. Unlike those heathens in Darfur right?

  7. because God is very good to us and we have so much

  8. We are blessed because our founding fathers knew that we needed to worship God in order to receive his blessings. Because we are always helping other countries around the world. We are preaching the gospel, feeding the poor, clothing the naked. I know it don't always seem this way but in churches from sea to shining sea we send missionaries to other countries to help the downtrodden and preach the gospel.

A Proclamation for a general Thanksgiving

Throughout the Unites States of America

    In Congress November 1st. 1777

Forasmuch as it is the indispensable duty of all men, to adore the superintending providence of Almighty God, to acknowledge with gratitude their obligation to him for benefits received, and to implore further blessings as they stand in need of; and it having pleased Him, in His abundant Mercy, not only to continue to us the innumerable bounties of his common Providence; but also to smile upon us, in the just and necessary war, for the defense and establishment of our unalienable Rights  and Liberties; particularly, in that he hath been please in so great a measure to prosper the means used for the support of our Troops, and to crown are arms with most signal success.

It is therefore recommended to the Legislative or Executive powers of these several United States, to set apart, Thursday, the eighteenth day of  December  next, for solemn Thanksgiving and Praise: That at one time and with one voice, the good people may express the grateful feeling of their hearts, and to consecrate themselves to the service of their Divine Benefactor; and together with their sincere acknowledgements and offerings they may join the penitent confession of their manifold sins whereby the forfeited every favour, and their humble and earnest supplication that GOD, thro’ the merits of Jesus Christ, would mercifully forgive and blot them out of remembrance; that it may please him graciously to afford his blessing on the government of these states respectfully, and prosper the public council of the whole; to inspire our commanders by land and sea, and all under them, that the wisdom and fortitude which may render them fit instruments, under the Providence of Almighty God, and to secure for the United States, the greatest of all human Blessings, Independence and Peace; that it may please Him to prosper the trade and manufactures of the people, and the labor of the Husbandman, that the land may yet yield its increase; to take schools and seminaries of education, so necessary for cultivating the true principles of Liberty, Virtue, and Piety, under his nurturing hand; and to prosper the means of religion for the promotion and enlargement of that Kingdom which consisteth in righteousness, Peace, and Joy in the Holy Ghost.

We no longer allow this in our schools, or government, but thank God we still have the freedom to worship and the people still love our Heavenly Father enough to do his will.

  9. chance.

you could just as easily have been born in a war-torn third world country.

  10. We are blessed because we are ALL God's children (even the ones that do not believe) . Jesus is the son of God. Jesus was crucified on the cross (at Calvary) for our sins. Jesus is the heir to all of God's kingdom and we are Jesus' brothers and sisters ( the believers).

God created humankind for His divine pleasure. He wants us to be happy and full of joy and just honestly praise His Holy Name.
