  1. Drilling is not the problem; it's lack of refining capacity that is the problem.  The oil companies don't have any incentive to increase refining capacity because it would increase supply of gasoline, and other refined products, and cut into their profits.

The drilling argument is a red herring.

  2. we were drilling offshore in the Gulf of Mexico before 1973

  3. well ask yourself this question would you rather dry up the middle east of oil or would you rather dry up the usa of oil...its simple logics use up yours so i can still have mine..you need oil for wars and war can come to you anytime

  4. 1973...Nixon administration...2008...Nixon administration...not well known for their love of the American people...still going great with China though

  5. Ask your buddy  "Obamaramamomma", or maybe Tony Resko knows, or maybe the Rev Wright has a secret drilling spot that his congragation bought for him, oh I know, Willliam Ayers told you to ask this question, right.

  6. It seems that the oil companies are still waiting for McCain to give them more of my (our) tax dollars for an incentive.

  7. well.. us BRIGHT people dont want to completely destroy our planet but find ways to preserve it. So I think that might be a key reason.

  8. Don't believe the McCain and FOX NOISE CHANNEL bullsh*t... McCain and the REPUBLICANS want to drill IN PROTECTED AREAS... they already have about THIRTY FIVE MILLION ACRES offshore where they can drill.. but THEY WANT TO DRILL IN PROTECTED WATERS... and they don't seem to make this clear since to MOST AmeriKans... offshore is off shore and they believe the Republican PRAPAGANDA.

  9. $ and those that don't want it want control over the 1s that use it> So if the Dem's get elected in we will see prices so high that we will be walking from jobs we had>

  10. Then as now there are environmental concerns.  In addition State's and the federal government want to control the areas off shore and "lease"  this public land to "big oil" or not so big oil, but much of it hasn't been developed.  Partly because of technical difficulty in drilling.  In California there are some beach areas that fear that one major oil spill could ruin the coastline for years.  So, would you want an oil rig in your yard?
