  1. Only in America.

  2. The billions spent are over many years.  It can take more than 10 years to plan, build and launch a satellite.  Because of  one year of bad economic news should we abandon the billions already spent on the space station and other planned programs.  I believe congress is considering delaying some programs in order to reduce costs next year.

  3. Carving tobacco pipes is better.

I'd discharge the "lets rule the Universe" staff.

Them are all crazy, and carving tobacco pipes is a relaxing job I 'd offer .

  4. i agree!

i think we should dig ourselves out of debt before we spend billions of dollars on that.........

  5. The space program employs Thousands of workers and sub-contractors, keeping them off of un-employment. Or if the natural order of things where to happen, they lose their jobs and take yours as a trickle down effect. The highest educated and most experienced will take the jobs first and the newest and youngest have to wait.

The space program also has advanced technology a hundred fold and you reap the benefits. All because someone else has paid for the research and development of the technology used.

Or perhaps you perfer a total welfare state?

  6. Design.

  7. Why do we waste billions of dollars every year - by giving it as "aid" to so many countries?

Why not keep it and pump it into our schools and health systems?

  8. I'd rather waste the money on going to space instead of spending Billions on an unwinable wars in the middle east.
