Why are we spending so much money....?

to make it? It now officially costs more to make a penny and a nickel than what they are worth. Can't we find another way to do this or at least spend the money on something else?

we should do away with pennies and round all prices to the nearest nickel.

As far as the nickel goes - i'm sure there's a way to make a 5-cent coin that costs less than 5 cents.

If not, the we should do away with them too, and round all prices to the nearest dime.

The government is already in the process of changing the penny and nickel

But then they are also considering eliminating  the nickle all together
