it seems that terrorism is not the problem but in fact a symptom of a greater problem, i.e. politlcal and economic instability. trying to fight terrorism is like trying to cure a cold by stopping your nose from running. it may make everything look ok but you never really fix the problem.

  1. 'The War on Terror' has been manufactured by the powers-that-be in America to justify two wars, and more in the future. It is a never-ending war, as 'Terrorism', much like 'evil', can never be defeated. A terrorist is a hero in another's eyes.

It is easier, and frankly more profitable, for American-led forces to fight terrorism than it is to actually confront the real issues. As long as corporations control government action, there will never be an honest attempt to look at the real issues. It is a sad time for the world, and will continue to be so for a long, long time.

  2. If any form of terrorism can be stopped then it should, huge numbers of people have been killed, it sounds like just another statistic, but if you have any friends or relatives in an area where a bomb went off then it becomes a major problem, and you start worrying about it, especially as you would have to deal with many people dead at the same time.

  3. There is a BBC documentary that you would like to watch that will answer that question. It's called "Power Of Nightmares" and you can view it here:

    http://www.archive.org/details/ThePowerO...

It's 3 hours long in 3 sections for public viewing.

  4. Islamic-radical terrorism is an organized attempt to destroy western civilization and as such needs to be harshly dealt with and approached as a major priority on par with cold war and WW II actions.  The only way to fix the problem via your method is for everyone to grow beards, wear scarfs, enslave women, and chant Allah Akbar!  Anything short of that does not satisfy the enemy.

  5. Everything you've said is right, but it is only part of the story.  One man's terrorist is another's patriot or freedom fighter, and many of today's insurgents and guerrillas across the world regard themselves as resisting the US empire - either directly, as in Afghanistan, or its indirect power via a hired collaborationist political class/party/media, as in countries like Britain.

The US is the only remaining empire.  If it once withdraws behind its own borders, and stops interfering in the life of other nations, including mine,  there will be peace within just a few years.

By the way, would you mind taking your hired quisling, Gordon Brown, back?  We don't want him.

  6. Since youve been in Israel what do you consider the war crimes that the nation of Israel have been doing? Killing innocent kids and women. The real terrorist are the jews. What have you been cleaning up? a bunch of made up debris? Look at this article. This is a war crime.

    http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20080721/ap_o...

Americas problem and so is the worlds problem are the jews. they are in factual statistics currently the biggest genocide man kind has ever seen. And you call muslims terrorist? Why Because they fight for there freedom? They fight for there Home? If you tell me someone is going to steal my house from me and you expect me to not do nothing?

The jews were behind the biggest attack on US soil aka 911. They planned it and have the airforce to do it. There main reason is for more American support behind the Jews and more importantly a worldwide hatred against mulsims and it sure did work.

Fact in Fact there should be sanctions against Israels Nuclears Weapons. Also the Government as a whole should be stepped down and ran by the UN until the Genocide has stopped.

  7. It's mainly to keep the American population afraid and dependent on their government for all the answers and safety. Which is totally ridiculous, because a lot of the health and safety problems the USA faces today are a direct result of the actions and lack of actions by the government.

  8. Yes, of course, terrorism is a symptom, or a physical expression of an underlying conflict.

Terrorism is bad no matter what the motivation, though, so it does make sense to try to stop it as a behavior.

The real conflict, of course, is not going to go away.  It needs to be talked about and understood on all sides.

It is the conflict between Islamist ideology (that all government should be based on Islam) and the the secular democracy of the West, which allows complete freedom of religion.  I happen to think that when religion is free from the government and vice versa, religion thrives.

Well, it looks as if we are going to have a crisis between Islamism and Western democracy.  Some kind of new balance will eventually be reached.  But as you said, the balance will not be perfect.

  9. Larry, you are the voice of reason in an insane world. Violence begets violence. An eye for an eye leaves the whole world staggering about in the dark. We all understand the pain that victims suffer but does it replace a torn off limn blowing someone else up. Many miss the point, governments are not exactly weeping when Catholics hate protestants, Jews hate Gentiles, Muslims hate Christians, the fanatics in all religions deflect our attention away from the real crime. While we have too much food and people starving, families with a dozen or more cars and people walking barefoot ten miles for water, while we have intolerable injustice we  have a breeding ground for hatred.  peace and justice go hand in hand but they are a long time coming.

  10. exactly.  terrorism is made up.
