If the trial period of a trial version of a software we have downloaded gets expired and we try to download its trial version again so that we don't have to buy it, but they come to know that we have already tried the trial version.

My question is how do they come to know?

I know that they use cookies...but after deleting cookies also they come to know.....can u plz tell me what other ways they use to know whether that particular software's trial version has already been downloaded on that particular computer or not?

  1. Else Your Freeloading.

  2. As a trial, is only meant for a certain time, the company do not want people just downloading the trial and when it expires re-download instead of actually buying the product.

  3. its a trial to see if you want to buy it and they track down the computers code

  4. Entries in your windows registry are left remnant even if you uninstall.

They do this on purpose obviously. If you are good at finding the entries you can remove or edit them to allow you to reinstall.

Some registry programs can help, but I am not sure which are particularly good.

    Hope this helps.

  5. They may track you ip address

  6. They know because they place some part of the program DEEP inside your computer that only an advanced expert would be able to find that file. When you try to redownload it, it locates that file and sees that it has already been there. The only way I have found that you can redownload something like that is to get your computer reimaged, but everything else has to go with it.

  7. Its because of your IP Address. That's how they know you already downloaded their trial.
