  1. conspiracy i tell you,...

  2. A good question.  Screens are black or gray because light colors (white, for instance) reflect light back at you.  The effect is that you can't  >see thru< light-colored screens.

Gray is more transparent.  Black is most transparent.

  3. you have the nice expensive ones.   They are seen less and they help keep harmful sun rays from entering your house, along with those insects.  You could go with the cheaper aluminum screens,  but you have to clean them alot more often, and to look thru them isn't nearly as pleasant.

  4. Black screens are usually fiberglass. Silver are aluminum.

  5. I thought I had black screens until I washed them and they were light gray.  Yes there are lighter colored screens you can buy.

  6. Nylon screen is actually dark grey and that is the least visible color as you look outdoors. You can buy aluminum screen that is natural (silver) color. It is more durable but looks terrible in my opinion.

  7. I can tell you things about absorbancy of wavelenths of light and reflection, but what do you mean by a window screen?

  8. They also come in gray with a silver frame.
