The 2.1 million fathers who had custody of their children in

1996 comprised 15 percent of all custodial parents. They were less likely to have been awarded child support (40 percent) than custodial mothers (61 percent). Of those due payments in 1995, they also were less likely to receive at least a portion of payments owed (57 percent) than were custodial mothers (70 percent).

  1. Well to start off with men make more on average.  But the legal system is more likely to give primary custody to the mother.  If the father gets primary custody there is typically an issue of abuse, drugs or other abilities of the mother to be a fit parent.  Typically people who are unfit parents don't pay child support.

Here is it Mis...lets see if this works.  This is a fairly well known stat.  Custodial fathers are also more likely to work full time and not receive government assistance.

You have to read the graph to find the information originally stated in the question.

  2. Your link doesn't work.  So your statistics are no good.  Still wow 2.1 million fathers have custody that is a lot... Why do people say men don't have custody?  I don't know though I know of more deadbeat dads then I do dead beat moms...

Well thank you mrs.. that link worked... From the statistic you can see that more women receive custody then men but then you can see that in 2003; 4,151 women were not awarded any child support and only 1,424 men were not awarded any child support.

  3. You don't have all the facts!!

  4. I knew  a man awarded child support. His ex was a very mean sadistic woman, he let the child support slide saying if she got out of line he had something to hold over her head to scare her. That was worth more to him than the money, she caused so many problems and the kids needed counseling for a long time.

  5. The reality is worse than you think.

Even if a woman is ordered to pay child support, and even if the husband goes to court to get an enforcement order for her to pay (because most mothers don't pay), it is rarely enforced.

The so-called "Family Responsibility Office" in each state is staffed with die hard feminists.

  6. Interesting. I wonder how many of them go to jail. Considering our gender biased courts, I imagine very few see prison time.
