  1. im 14 and being homeschooled this year(8th grade)

*moved and had to try a new school which was horrible!

*school only offered remedial classes and i am smart but not a geek

    *have panic disorder(after moving)

*was harrassed becuase of being white in a hispanic community and i wasn't poor like almost everone else was.

    *sexual harrassment from guys

*not learning anything because teachers spend 75% of class time disiplineing students

*hard to make friends(which was really hard cause at my old school i was one of the most popular people)

these are just some of the reasons! but now im being homeschooled and im loving it! hope this helps! :)

  2. YES!

  3. Because the closest school is a two day drive away from our house

Because my dad refuses to pay $40,000 a year for a bunch of strangers to teach me bad habits when he can do it himself for free

Because of a hundred-and-one other reasons

  4. I failed the 4th grade lol. Because of my teacher, she always yelled at me and i would freeze up in class. And not move or talk or anything. So she failed me and i got takened out cause my mom didnt want me to be left back a grade. But im in the 11th now, and soon to finish up my work.

  5. I get to do school in my jammies.

My mom has home school me my whole life. I've tried public school out for a semester...it was ok, but I like home school better.

  6. im not but ppl get it maybe kids are mean, cant learn in a classroom enviroment,or want a profession{like dosent work with your time sched} and you can do skool anytime wh your homeshooled

  7. I homeschool my kids because I love them and want them to have time to be kids and be close to their family as well as getting a more individualized education. Public and private schools are either in it for the money or to turn out more workers to take over for the last generation. I want my kids to be able to think for themselves, have opinions even if they aren't the "norm" and be able to be the best individuals they can be, not robots. :)

  8. Because the public high schools I went to didn't do much for me as far as learning.

  9. For one, it is way more flexible than public school. I can even go to school in my pajamas and wake up later! Also, it is easier to concentrate without all of the noise and distractions, it allows me to learn in a Biblical environment, and there isn't the pressure of cliques and trying to fit in all of the time. I still socialize, but without nearly as much peer pressure as public school has. For example, I'm involved in Church and Church activities, 4H, and go outdoors all of the time! I go swimming in the summer, go to the playground, fish, shop, and all sorts of stuff! To add structure, I make sure to spend about 2 hours each day on my assignments and work hard. Being homeschooled also is a bonus because I can work at my own pace. Because I'm a fast worker, I'll probably be graduating by the beginning of summer. (I've met all of the graduation requirements and have worked ahead.) I've even written and self published a book during my spare time! It's a ton of fun, and gives me a chance to focus on my future career goals. (Becoming a writer).

  10. I was home-schooled, because my parents thought a teacher was asking the class to debate something that was highly inappropriate for a Christian school. Also, my brother was home-schooled because he got into trouble at his school.

  11. Because I realized early on that I did not want to deal with the drama c**p that goes on in school, and seriously, I didn't have time to go to school!  I would have only been able to stay in one, maybe two activities if I had ever gone to school.  I was always involved on too many activities to have time to go to a normal school.  Plus, my parents wanted me to grow up with manners, respectfulness, and a love of learning.  Oh yeah, and some common sense which apparently is not taught in public schools anymore.

  12. Welll, I'm not homeschooled, but my son is. :-)

He's HS'ed for the individual pacing and dynamic courses.  He also needs the challenge.  He's profoundly gifted and it was our school district's idea for us to HS him when he was in their preschool.  He's been HS'ed now for over 5 years and LOVES it.

My daughter attends public school because it's a better fit for her (and our family as a whole).  We do what's best for each child.

  13. I wanted a better education, better preparation for college, the opportunity to follow my interests, set my own goals, discover my capabilities, and have a say in my education, a wider variety and higher quality of social opportunities, more TIME for these social opportunities, a chance to learn in the REAL WORLD instead of in a classroom all day, and a reason to love learning again.

  14. well, i'm not homeschooled yet, but i start next term!! i will be doing it because i've been in a spanish school for four years and i can't get into a good british school in the uk. so i'll be homeschooled til i go to a sixth form college, either in the uk or germany. and u?

  15. I didn't really have a choice in the matter....

  16. My daughter is being homeschooled currently because she had a bicycle accident that resulted in a broken nose and a skull fracture. She was also not doing well in her 2nd grade class. I am homeschooling her while she heals and will continue her education into the summer months in hopes that she will be caught up to her class in time for fall.
