Why are you supposed to shave the same way your hair grows?

i always find when im shaving my legs, its a lottt harder to get the hairs off shaving it downward..i'd rather shave upward (opposite of the way my hair grows)

  1. Because if you shave againts your grain then your hair will grow back in a diffrent direction giving it the illusion that you either have thicker hair or longer hair.


  2. Because when you shave with your hair you might miss a few and just cut it in half or something while when going up u hits your razors lifts the hair up and then cuts it closer to the root.

    I shave the opposite way my hair grow when i shave my face.

  3. Shaving your hair upwards causes irratation causing bumps. I shave upwards on my legs, but on my sensitive areas, I shave downward to avoide the bumps.  

  4. upwards, that way it can grag ahold of your hair

    told you otherwise.
