Now that we are closer to the presidential elections. What do you see different between candidates.

What issues do you think one candidate has over another?

As an American, which candidate will restore the lost respect to the United States and who will restore our economy?

Respectful answers are appreciated!

Thanks

  1. I choose McCain because

Palin is the only candidate that supports banning the birth control pill.

It's worth noting that Gov.Palin is a member of "Feminists for Life", an organization with members that openly support outlawing all "non-abortifacient contraception" (anything that stops implantation of the fertilized egg). http://www.marketwatch.com/news/story/ff...

We may not be able to overturn Roe vs Wade but there is no constitutional right to the birth control pill.

Most women do not know that if your pill regulates your period, it kills babies.

As VP she could break a tie vote in the Senate, and explain this to the men in the Senate.

  2. I am voting for McCain, because I support the troops.

  3. Biden

  4. McCain:

    1) Confessed he is not an economist, and right now we need one. At least he is honest.  From the Reaganomics of the 70s, have you ever seen a Republican that did not leave us in a near recession?  A Democrat always comes to heal the country afterwards.  Look how quickly Bush messed up the economy that flourished when Clinton was in.

    2) Decided to support the land grab, occupation, seizure of Iraqi oil, and apointment of puppet leaders in Iraq (like Karzai a former lawyer for Bush in Afghanistan...watch Fahrenheit 911).  He is even more zealous after "finding out" that there are no WMDs in Iraq.

    3) Spends all of his time distracting people from his proposed solutions with negative attacks similar to the way Bush did to him in the past because he has no answers.  He also uses political ploys.  If he really wanted to choose experience and what Republicans define as competent, why not choose Scandaleesa Rice?

    4) Supports and condones the exploitation of multinational companies that ignore the people who enrich them.  He is naive enough to believe that help focused in the established giants will trickle down, but this never happens.  Instead, they use their strength to keep the people desperate.

    5) Turned against his fellow troops by not allowing them access to health benefits and compensation when they return from war.  He did not even help to fund the war in the proper way.  Vets themselves want Obama.

    6) Uses 911 and the war as a way to steal civil liberties.  This will void the constitution as conservatives want so that the powerful can have their way with the people and can occupy our neighborhoods as is done in Iraq.

    7) Connected with racist pastors and discourage Obama's connection to revolutionary Black liberation theology...started by Blacks excluded from the White Churches who ignored their rights.

    8) "Experience" did nothing for his judgement.

    Obama

    1) Believes the presidency is bigger than him, so he uses grassroots change, which he demonstrated by getting more youth involved and generating more interest in and spotlight on the political process than anyone before him.  (Even McCain called him a "star" and "moses" in mockery). He gives the oppressed a voice.

    2)  His genuine desire to help the country will allow him to grow while in office.

    3) He demonstrated the use of diplomacy in Iraq by negotiating with the current leadership and with all the people who disagreed with him in his campaign.  Even with the Clintons and a few others whom he won over.  He helps to pull together the fragmented Democrats, and even won Republicans over.

    4) He actually focused on illiminating bureaucracy in education so it will not be a system of preserving the status quo by giving some people bootlegged education, but one that allows social mobility and actual education.

    5) He defends the rights of workers and soldiers to receive compensation for their work. He doesn't call them heroes and leave them hanging.

    6) Obama knows what it is like to struggle as a Black man in America, and is sympathetic to women's rights because he has nothing but women in his family.  His speeches and prior action in the community show he is radical.  Successful Blacks know what it is like to struggle because they are not staying in their designated place in the racial caste system.

    7) Transferrable experience from studying law, community activism, etc.

I will give more another time.  Don't want to bog you down.

  5. Sending the troops home would be rather appreciated than keeping them there.

    Obama...

  6. Im voting for McCain, Obama will ruin this country. McCain may not be the absolute best person for the job, but I would pick him over Obama any day.

  7. obama cuz the world knows we need another 90's decade or else were screwed

  8. Obama.

He is the best reaction in the eyes of the REST OF THE WORLD right now. It almost doesn't matter what McCain has to offer. So long as Obama will be an 'average' leader he will be better than McCain.

    The details:

    1. 9/11 was an obvious disaster. Even some terrorists were ashamed at what happened.

    2. America's leader(s) reacted to 9/11 by doing things that ERODED its constitution (things that would have been considered unconstitutional before). This was a over-reaction in 'desperate times'.

    3. To qoute a popular Tony Shaloub & Dezel Washington Movie, "this is what the terrorists want us do".   If you ignore the USA constitution. you are effectively attacking the foundation of the nation itself.

    4. The moves USA has made internationally have eroded the international sympathy that existed just after 9/11, primarily because those moves seemed desperate and hypocritcal and contrary to the reasons that the generations of americans have been to war for before.

    5. Electing Obama as President will let the rest of the world see that the USA still believes in its own constitution. It will ripple across the world.

  9. The choice is clear.

John McCain a respected Senator and war hero who even Bi den and Hillary said would make a good president.  He is a maverick who will fight for his opinion on issues and NOT vote for a bill that is loaded with Pork.  He wants to change the way Washington runs everything.

McCain has chosen a excellent running mate who has executive experience in Sarah Pallin.

Obama although he speaks very well, doesn't have any experience running a business or government and has only a matter of weeks in the Senate.  When away from a tele-prompter cannot get his thoughts together.  He has made a mistake choosing a running mate like Biden who has a low popularity rating and didn't get that many votes in the primary.  He has said that Obama doesn't have enough experience to be president.

My choice is of course, John McCain and Sarah Pallin. in 08.

  10. since BOTH support warrantless wiretaps, I'm voting for NADER

  11. the world hates us now and we need a true leader to show us the way and get our respect back and that would be obama ~~~

  12. Obama  can without a doubt restore the lost respect. another republican in the white house would just peruse and intensify other countries stereotypes of our country, as well as keep the same things we hate about our government in action.

However, while i support obama and some of his viewpoints, i am not thrilled with him as a democratic candidate. I would've liked to see someone with more experience as the candidate. I sometimes feel like he may be more talk and great speeches than action and change.
