I'm voting for Obama because he is making promises to help the economy...McCain doesn't have a plan to make it better...he just plans on continuing what Bush has been doing for the past 8 years. It has nothing to do with race for me...I just want a change. If it gets worse, it was only gonna get worse anyway. I just feel like I'd rather vote for someone who at least says he's going to do something and not for someone who never even mentioned it

An upper class republican may find it hard to see whats really going on in this world when they are in a box of paid bills and their only problem is a bad relationship here and there. When you are born into a middle and lower class family and all you can do is WATCH your family struggle to put food on the table and pay the bills, you wish for someone who cares. I wish yall could drive through my neighborhood and see all the forclosed homes and the numbers are steady rising. Why would you expect anyone to trust someone whose been saying the same thing the last guy said and he never did anything for us AS A COUNTRY!!!! Why are we wrong for wanting change? I personally dont know why they dont see that a strong middle class equals a strong economy. When the MAJORITY is stable then we are all stable.

If the rich folks cared about the middle class, at least, we would be better off...more able to buy what the rich folks are selling and more able to hand out to the less fortunant. We are important middle ground that Republicans tend to ignore

  1. I am voting for Obama because I am not blind and close minded. I love all Americans and I want to see them happy.

  2. I'm not voting Obama and you really need to think about what his plans really mean. Do you think that you can tax corporations more and they'll stay? Do you think that capital gains taxes as high as 25% will really motivate people to invest? If the rich have to pay an exorbitant amount in taxes don't you think they will pick up and leave,if they are that wealthy they don't have to live in America. You complain that the Bush administration has given us a massive deficit, what exactly makes you so sure that an extra trillion dollars a yr in new taxes and load of new programs will bring us out of debt bc it won't.

The reason our economy is in such bad shape started when the dems forced banks to lend money to ppl they knew were irresponsible and very high risk. If Obama is elected and the dems have a filibuster then America will face another great depression. I'm sure you're too young to remember Jimmy Carter's administration and just how low he brought the U.S. with his failed policies. Which are very much like Obama's. The same policies and plans that Obama is proposing now are like the one's which started and dragged on the great depression 10yrs,instead of like other countries which pulled out of the depression in 2,3 yrs.

  3. Every politician makes promises-Is the other guy here saying McCain's promises are solutions and Obama's are promises? Get real buddy.

The republican party has had 8 yrs to stop the war and 8 years to stop the outsourcing of American jobs. I believe Obama will put a stop to it and McCain won't.

  4. Actually, McCain does have an economic plan. That sentence alone shows that you're nothing more than a garden variety uninformed voter.

I was born in a sh*thole in DC, poor as you can possibly be. I didn't even have shoes. When winter came I made shoes out of cardboard. My mother was in jail for dealing drugs, and I was homeless from the age of 6 to 9 before I got put in foster care.

I dug myself out of that hole without government handouts, and without debt. I own a small house in a humble part of town - I didn't buy MORE THAN I COULD MANAGE. Foreclosed houses aren't Bush's fault. The only people to blame are the ones who wanted to live beyond their means.

I am voting for MCCAIN because HE has MORE than empty promises. HE actually has a PLAN. It's sad that so many fall for Obama's "change" and "promises" and don't realize that he can't deliver on them - based on simple mathematics. He can't fund his new programs without increasing taxes on the middle class and continuing deficit spending. Taxing capital gains is going to increase the prices of our products, and no one is going to have the money to buy them with higher taxes - which are also going to drive interest rates up.

The "rich folks" don't have to care about the middle class. They worked for what they have and they deserve to keep it. It's not THEIR fault that some mismanaging idiot in your neighborhood who makes $40,000 a year wanted to buy a $600,000 house. They don't owe YOU anything.

The sooner you liberals decide to take responsibility for your own actions, the better we'll be as a country.

ETA: The outsourcing of American jobs began with Bill Clinton. Darn!

  5. I am voting for him because he has a plan.  I detest paying more taxes, but more than that I hate paying for more taxes when it is just covering up for inept management of the existing tax base.  Obama, may increase taxes, yet he did say that 95% of the US citizens will get a tax break and he was going to go through the Federal budget line by line.

It is yet to be seen if he will do those things, but it is a start by saying it.

  6. "Promises" Really, look into those promises and try to determine how they could even remotely be viable.

First, his plans have to get through congress. Long odds indeed.

Second, he has to come up with the money to pay for them, and we already owe the Chinese trillions of dollars.

Third, he promises to reduce taxes on 95% of Americans.

Fourth, He would have to raise taxes on the income of the other 5% over 200% to get anywhere near the money to begin these plans, much less see them through and balance the budget. Not even the rich can pay twice their income in taxes.

Finally, are promises what America really needs? Or is it solutions that we need?
