Why are young people so obssessed with fame?

Question

why does every one want to be famous? especially young people?

ok and some grown folk? i', going to say 2 out of 10 people don't want to be famous, what are your thoughts?

Well, I don't want to be famous.

I want to act.

I could care less if I was well known.

I just watch them on TV thinking of how fun it'd be to act. It's a great experience, and working in theater is the funnest.

...To be truthful I couldn't handle being famous. I'm already easily offended, if I was like Miley Cyrus I'd probably commit suicide. Being a well known yet not discussed actress is what I strive for. Kind of like Dakota Fanning. She's amazing but you never see people hating on her.

that's why i'm staying in school

then going to college

& becoming a lawyer or maybe an interpreter

i don't even know yet ( i still got time to think about what i wanna be)

it's nice 2 be a celebrity but i couldn't live my life like that with people invading your privacy

i'd rather be rich (by hard work) and not known by the world than to have everyone's eye on me & in magazines

I never said I wanted to be famous. I just like to sing and perform. If people liked me enough, i guess i would be considered "famous". All I really want to do is live out my dream of entertaining people for a living. Even if it means being followed by paparazzi and having every moment in my life published in magazines. What I want out of that is the benefit of inspiring other people to do just the same! It is what my parents taught me, to always follow your dreams, do what ever it takes to go that extra mile when you can barely take another step. (I'm slowly figuring out how that phrase helps as life progresses.)

Young ppl wanna b famous b/c they look up to famous role models and expect life to be like that. They attention is drawn to the clothing, media, and the red carpet. They think its a fast track to fame and $$$..

ok i mean it would be cool to be famous but i am a 13 year old girl and when we go see concerts i dont get their autographs...i dont see the point i mean seriously i could just ask a really good singer for an autograph if i really want one so badly it is just a person and just a name

Because we want glory and we want people to look up to us and want to be us. Also i wanna be famous because i want to show off my talent so there and no one uses the word "Folk" Anymore! LOSER!!!

i guess i am one of the two..i hate fame..i lived alone for 20 yrs now since my divorce..i dont even care for movie or tv stars..they are stuck up rich snobs..leave me alone and i am happy...some people want fame to impress others..big deal

Because when you are young your mind is impressionable and hollywood glamorizes being a celebrity. I was like this even past my teenage years. For a long time I only wanted to be with famous guys. Then I got in a real relationship with someone who is an aspiring musician and realized if I was with someone famous they would have no time for me, and I would hate that.

i want to be famous so i can make money and help my family out because we are having financial problems since one a parent of mine passed away and we are having problems with bills and sutff :/

i'm sure other people want to be famous so they can get money, make people happy whether they sing or act or w/e they do. and many other things.

i definatly want to be famous! and uhh the word Folk?? lmfao. sorry thats funny. i haven't seen that word since i was like 5
