Why are younger people so against condom use?

Question

I have tried to teach youngsters about safe s*x in class last week and all are sexually active but will not use condoms for various reasons which do not make sense. I am flabbergasted that so many 16 to 18 year olds have multiple partners and never use condoms. What is it in this age group which makes it so uncool?

Our youth today just don't care about things!  If they were smart (which they are not) either use the condom or have one partner and the both of you get tested for STDs!

I guess they need someone they know to die or something before they realize what they are doing is stupid!

Well teens are naturally reckless and rarely do things safely. I'd put it off to later stages of puberty.

Actually, I really hate condoms. But then, I don't have multiple partners, and I'm on the pill.

If you've told them all of the risks, I guess it's up to them to do what they want. It's definitely sad, though. I think it's just your typical teenage won't-ever-happen-to-me mentality.

Its stupid guys say it feels better without and girls dont wanna loose their bf or dissapoint the guy so they go along with it.

Dont worry thou most ppl at my school us em as most of us dont wanna worry about the morning after pill and getting pregnant.
