Why aren't Asians or Hispanics portrayed in modern day media?

Asians and Hispanics are slowly growing from a minority into a majority. In fact, whites will end up becoming a minority in 2042 (something I saw online and on the news). The year may not be accurate but eventually, due to immigration and other factors, whites will be a minority. Mostly, it's blacks and whites in movies and TV shows which makes it very unrealistic because there are other races in the world.

I'm sure things will change as their population grows.  However, when over 50% of your audience is white, you would expect a majority of the people in the media to reflect this.  After all, the 'media' is a business.  Without an audience, they don't make money.  So, they appeal to the greatest common denominator.  If you don't like it, change it.  Open your own newspaper, create your own T.V. show, etc...

There are a lot of them on TV, just not as many "race" driven shows on as much anymore. Instead, you have a mix of people on one show. What about George Lopez? There is the Spanish channel too. As for Asians...I think they are fairly well portrayed.

Hispanics are definitely portrayed in the media, and so are Asian women. I'm white and even I can admit that Asian men are always giving the cold shoulder when it comes to Hollywood, that's simply just because America finds Asian men undesirable.

what are you talking about hispanics not being portrayed in the media? cameron diaz, alexis bledel, adam garcia and lynda carter are all hispanic and everyone talks about them.

i think you are confusing the word hispanic (which means "from spain") with the term latino.

hispanic means you are actually white, spain=european

latino means you are of the spanish culture and can speak spanish.

look up alexis bledel.... she is full hispanic and is the whitest thing.

but your right about asians.... i never see them anywhere.... that is a shame too because they are soo cute and have a beautiful culture. hope i helped.
