  1. People have many different needs for a car, such as commuting, shopping for clothes, traveling and vacationing, picking up lumber and gravel and other home improvements stuff, etc.

If people have a family, they need more room for kids, carseats, diaper bags, etc.

So people need a variety fo cars to fill those needs.  But buying lots of cars costs money, so most people try to only buy one or two cars to handle most of their needs.  They end up with larger vehicles that burn extra fuel becaue those vehilces can do everything.

  2. Until someone builds a car that do the 1/4 mile in less than 13 seconds, have a range of 300 miles, has all the creature comforts that one expects, and doesn't sound like a weedeater. I will gladly keep my V8 Mustang and my V8 Bronco.

  3. I think you might mean energy efficient, so if you do, it's because they are expensive. People don't like expensive. So they don't have many. But also because people like cool cars like hummers. DON"T BUY HUMMERS. THEY ARE THE WORST CARS IN THE WORLD.

  4. When consumers want to buy them - they will gladly start making them.

Why don't you go for an electric bicycle? - high demand in China has made them very efficient.

  5. I assume you mean energy-efficient, and the answer unfortunately is that a lot of Americans just don't care.  The American auto industry has been working for years to convince consumers that bigger is better, and they've been so successful the Japanese are now building bigger V8-powered vehicles to compete with the American manufacturers.  There are people who actually say, "I would rather die than give up my full-size SUV."  Until that mindset changes, manufacturers will continue to build as many huge, inefficient vehicles as they can sell.

  6. Is energy eviction a term that only Ford uses? Because I have never heard of this term. In general Ford is not at the forefront of energy efficiency. And I can not imagine what energy eviction would mean.
