Why aren't girls allowed to wear belly shirts at school?

i don't think they should be but i can understand why they are.

they are too distracting for the male brain and schools need to maintain a comfortable environment as much as possible.

besides, you might get fat girls wearing belly shirts and that wouldn't be fun for ANYONE! =D

It's innappropriate.

Showing your stomach is kind of considered a sexual thing..

If a girl was wearing a shirt showing her stomach you could assume she wants attention.. or um.. well you know.

And that sort of stuff shouldn't be supported.

At my school we aren't allowed to wear really short shorts or tops with really thin straps. No showing an unnecessary amount of skin.

And actually cleavage doesn't mean showing skin on your torso.
