Why aren't lists of foreclosed home for sale by banks easier to find?

  1. Ask you real estate agent to find you a bank owned home  on the MLS. Banks DO NOT sell directly to the public.


  2. Because the vast majority of lenders do not deal directly with the public, they leave home selling to the professionals, they list them with a Realtor.

  3. They usually list them through realtors.  They do not market them directly.

  4. It's not too easy to find due to the fact banks don't really advertise "foreclosed homes" on their end, however; any bank has a search engine and you can search for (REO), Real Estate Owned by the lender, this status indicates the property is now owned by the lender or bank as a result of a foreclosure.  That'll should help, if not do a google search for REO and the bank name.

  5. They put them in the MLS, it could not be easier then that.
