It is a matter of national pride. Can't the baseball team owners come up with a solution for this?

  1. Because it's the middle of baseball season!  Would you want your favorite team's best players gone for 2 weeks with playoff spots at stake?  Neither do the team owners.

  2. Well, all of baseball's stars have to play with their team and they need to compete for the top of their leagues or the Wild Card. If any of the stars would go on to compete in the Olympics, the teams would fall apart especially when they need their good players the most. Besides, the regular season is almost over, so they all have to step it up(Yankees *cough*). Since they can't use the major leaguers, they use players from the AA and AAA.
