Why aren't the energy experts who are part of the US Gvmnt. tripping over each other to get sugar cane moving?

Refined sugarcane is used to power cars in Brazil = E85.

Brazil is FREE from the grip by the middle East oil.

Refined sugarcane ethanol(E85) burns more efficiently then refined corn-ethanol- in fact 35% better/cleaner burn.

What's the story with the US Gov. ? Are they just asleep at the wheel ??

Except for Hawaii, the US is not in a tropical climate, so there is little sugar cane to make EtOH from.

because of stinking politicians hooked up with the exxonmobil, chevron and sunocophillips etc. and sugarcane grows easily in the the u.s. sunbelt. but there are plants superior to sugar cane according to reports that i have seen on pbs. brazil just happens to favor sugar cane when they began their program. corn for ethanol is insane and costs far more than it contributes. wrong place and wrong plant to make alcohol. why does the government subsidize select corn ethanol producers and noth others. stinking politics and was started by clinton and continued by bush. two party system is sux. i will vote for the one competent and honest man around, good old ralph nader. i don't expect him to win but i will sleep better.

Why aren't they looking at hemp also because the oil companies and military industries are running this country. They want high oil prices and continued war.

Would you like the price of sugar to raise like the price of corn? Our government has already seen what happens when you divert corn to ethanol.

You're kidding, right?  You expect the current Oil Company Administration of the United States to pay any attention at all to alternative fuel sources?  Plus, really the only places in the U.S. you can seriously grow Sugar Cane is Hawaii and maybe Florida and the Gulf Coast.

because al gore and obama would lose money they have invested in ethynol plants here.that is part of the reason.the other is soros owns more stock in halliburton than bushes whole  freakin cabinet, not to mention both pelosi and reids investments in oil futures.

For the same reason they don't use the energy from dams already in existence - dams in our country that are untapped hydro-power.  

I think they are shirking their responsibilities, are lazy, lack dedication, and need someone to guide them.  Have we become a nation of "followers", with no leader ?
