  1. its based on when u put ur hands on 'home row' and which keys you use the most often is where they are most easily accessible.

  2. When computers were first invented that's how the order was.  But the first machines were slow in processing and people could type really fast when the alphabet was in that order.  So they mixed it up in order to try and slow it down so the processors could read it.  With today's machines the keys could be in regular order now though, but it's become standard to have them this way.

  3. Back when the typewriter was invented, they were. People began to type too quickly, getting the wires inside tangled. So, the creator created the QWERTY keyboard to slow people down so his machine didn't break on people! That style just stuck.

  4. The computer keyboard is laid out like typewriters have been.  It was much easier for people who had been using typewriters to adapt to computers using the same keyboard.

The original typewriter keyboard was laid out in alphabetical order, but made typing slow because adjacent keys would get stuck together.  Read the history at the web site listed below.  I think you'll find it very interesting.

  5. they were put in order by the most frequently used they are

  6. i think its because they arranged it in by the most common used letters so its easier on everyone

for instance; how often do you use the letter Q?? never, so thats why its the farthest letter to the left (cuz most people are right handed) the most common used letters are on the right side. thats why they punctuations are on the right side too

  7. back in the time of the manual typewriter, this was the only configuration that allowed all 26 letters to fit across the ribbon/roll.

  8. sorry dude everythings different in this world i havent a clue dude sorry!

  9. I thought it was like that so it's easier for the average human to learn where each letter is.
