Those commercials are ridiculous:

$99.99 value

$29.99 now

$19.99 if you call within the next 10 minutes

We'll give you two for one, and a special free gift!!!!

NUTS

(Occasionally a TV deal is offered at Walgreen's, etc., but not often)...

  1. There may be several reasons for this.

    1. The company selling the product cannot afford to open or operate a brick and mortar store.

    2. The item is sold at too low a price for a brick and mortar store to wish to carry it. Their mark-up would destroy part of its appeal.

    3. The company selling the product is basically just advertising and filling orders. They don't manufacture or warehouse the product - it is being sent directly from overseas. Some brick and mortar stores cannot operate this way.

    4. Finally, the nature of Direct Response TV ads is to encourage immediate action and immediate phone calls. They don't want to wait for you to go to the store tomorrow, they want you to pick up the phone NOW!

  2. Sometimes in a mall you can find a store that only has these TV-offered items.

And, my lord, that stuff is junk! Useless, poorly made, overpriced rubbish.

And this is the reason it is sold only on TV. Retailers don't want to clutter their shelves with poorly made items that break easily and do not perform well.
