  1. because its cheap and not many people here are going to find it attractive....  here we have our  houses built out of quality stuff, not plastics


  2. For the same reason you can't get a house in the southern US with a poured concrete basement, or a house built with standard sized lumber in Greece - tradesmen are used to doing things a certain way and it's really difficult to get them to do things differently.
