So i've been reading about how they think a chinese gymnast might be underage. Why isn't anyone looking into it or doing anything about it? if they are should the chinese be stripped of all the medals the underage girls helped them win?

you'd think they would want to keep things fair but if there are underage girls then its not really fair is it

  1. While people suspect that she is underage, they can't really do anything about it because her (Chinese-government issued) passport says she is 16.  In the eyes of the IOC, that constitutes legal proof that she is 16 and meets the age requirement.

  2. b/c y dont want to do anything about it

  3. idk i was wondering that too

i doubt they will strip of them of their medals

    i wish they would

    =[

  4. there is no rock solid evidence since those girls have official passports and documents stating their legal age, and IOC rarely reverse its decision on medals on issues other than doping,  its just a excuse the american media is abusing to try to start an anti china campaign over the american public

  5. their passports state that they are of legal age to compete and that is what they look at..if they are truly underage yes they should not have their gold medals..

  6. Maybe the other countries are trying to keep that quiet as they don't want them to prove that they got owned by under aged Chinese Gymnasts. And besides, the way they look is in their genes. My cousin is Chinese, but born in the U.S. So she's about 18 now and she went to a restaurant and they gave her a kids menu. And that was only a couple months ago.

  7. The Chinese would probably forge the documents anyway and they are the host country, so the IOC probably isn't going to do anything about it. It is unfortunate and unfair.

  8. Because you are too preoccupied with the thought that whatever Chinese do they are wrong, so the girls must be underage as claimed by the Western media.

You are so preoccupied with this thought that you overlooked the possibility that they might not be underage at all.

  9. There is really nothing they can do.

The Chinese government does not keep Birth Certificates as the US does. Therefore all they can do is look at her passport which claims she is 16.

There is no proof so they cannot take away the medals.

They are considering making it to where in 35 years you MUST have a birth certificate to be in the olympics, but they have to wait that long so that people that have been training and dont have one can compete.

  10. I agree its bullshit but everyone knows they wont strip the medal from the chinese when they are the host country.

  11. It seems to me that the word fake or false is a big word these games.

You have the allegations that this girl is underage then there was the opening ceremony where some of the fireworks were pre-recorded and the young girl who was singing that song was miming and the real singer was a young chubby Chinese girl who was not acceptable because she was chubby and another Chinese gymnast who although has good technique almost could not compete because her teeth were not straight until someone paid for her teeth to be fixed and she was therefore allowed to compete.

Its all about the way everything looks and not so much the reality - its sad really

  12. If it is proven that China has fielded underage atheletes in some events, then yes the IOC should do something to make it clear that it will not be tolerated. However, I should point out the following:

The average height of a 16 year old in the US: 5ft 8

The average height of a 16 year old in China:5ft 4
