It seems unfair that their ignorance and inability to cover their own proverbial rear ends makes a new nasty burden for all of us law abiding citizens.

  1. Because those ignorant fools who can cover their own rear ends usually are broke and you will never get any money out of them if you try.  Its kinda like why does my tax money go to pay welfare for some lazy person who wont work and wants to make babies all day long.  The strong will continue to cover the weaks rear end forever.

  2. Its the same in the UK.

Basically it is because they often have no assets and there is little point going after them.

I think they should increase the penalties for driving without insurance. Often if you have no insurance you are fined and often the fine is less than the insurance premiums.

Also the chances of getting caught are slim. A lot of people get away with it and therefore people keep doing it. If people know other people that get away with it and they get away with it, then they will keep doing it.

  3. Welcome to America. Thats exactly why we all pay high insurance. All the insurance companys has this built into the paying auto drivers insurance. If everyone had insurance our policies would be cut by 75 % Insurance companys subergrate to recoup their losses against a person, IF they can find them.
