by and letting this all happen? Why can't we have the Million person march about the raising cost of living? How can we keep paying more more more but still make the same amount of money? I am going broke just trying to keep up. All of a sudden I find myself in the hole and I work two jobs, what is everyone else doing?? Has anyone else had to give back a car or foreclosed if so..how did you handle it?

  1. I think it is a serious problem. The UN should convene the Security Council and pass a resolution against the OPEC. It is necessary to coerce them into a reasonable price arrangement.

  2. It is PETA loving tree huggers like you that caused this mess. So we THANK YOU for messing everything up!

  3. No one can afford to take the day off to protest.

    I wish I could....

  4. Good question why are we? If we don't fired up soon we get what we ask for.

  5. it is so scary. i cannot do

    anything. everybody is just

    waiting for whatever happens.

    maybe the u.s. congress will

    come back from vacation and

    help us.

  6. Because we would be criticized for driving our Hummers and SUVs to the rally 1 person per gas guzzling SUV. To change things you have to be willing to change and no one is less willing to change than the average american.

  7. Protests are for the retired and unemployed, the rest of us have a job and responsibility

  8. Money made by citizens for communities created by computer graphics. Designs based on the trade of the person. People require control of their currency so once in control they  can purchase even different types of cars.

They may not require jobs as they can make their own currency or at least work for themselves and not someone else. Like set up personal buisness. Million March is good idea to block off major highways  with it might prove effective. Chant to drivers in cars ''Want to beat the rising price of gas join us and have a bicycle ride''. As to last no for the reason do not have  a car.

  9. Protest to WHOM?  No one person or business has control.

Since we do not and never have lived above our means, we are in great shape.  Always paid cash for a car, so no, never had one repossessed.  If we can't afford it, we do without

  10. Yea, I think the energy problem needs to be attacked on all fronts,, drill everywhere,, mandate drilling, break up the oil companies, reverse the mergers i.e. Conoco Phillips (remember phillips 66) Chevron-Texaco, Exxon-Mobil, and so on to create more competition,,,,,,,,, remember the 50 mpg Honda civic of the 70's,,, does a car getting 18mpg with smog control create less pollution than one getting 50mpg w/o smog control. mandate more solar and wind power plants, incentivate electric cars,, build nuclear power plants.. they say it would take 10 years to get NRC approval for a plant.. why?...... plants have been built in other parts of the world.. wouldn't those blueprints be acceptable,,,,,  ORGANIC FARMING!!!!! WHAT A JOKE!!! it take twice as much land to produce equal yields and more manure from slow growing animals that create methane....

  11. Really, people will protest by carpooling and staying home, by truly changing their gas buying habits, when gas and food become a true hardship on large quantities of people.  Right now, it's only the lowest level of the social strata that is truly hurting and having to choose between gas and food.  Most everyone else can give up say, a cell phone, high-speed internet, satellite TV, DVR service, shall I go on?

  12. because every one is afraid of the goverment

they have way to much power over us

and everybody is just too afraid to do anything about it

  13. Because unlike our super socialist friends across the sea most of us know that we can't repeal the law of supply and demand.

  14. Sheeple will be living in the streets soon.

The rest will raise up and make those politicians pay out with their salaries.

    We've all be had

  15. You're hurting the earth's feelings.  (cough, cough)

The lemming Democrat party (someone told me it was offensive to write democrat party instead of democratic party, use it if you like) has followed Al Gore over the Global Warming Hoax Cliff.

Unfortuneately, it will take another $1.5 to $3. a gallon before the democrats will try to convince you they were for drilling all along.  If your representative or senator is a democrat, give them a call.  Let them know that doing nothing is unacceptable.

  16. i agree with you actually. i wish i could do more, but i am only one voice. maybe you should start a group. if you do, i'm in.

  17. You might be hurting economically but there are many more out there who are not.  I think the people overall are rich.  Don't believe me?  Check out the spending at the mall or the packed houses at the Casino or at the Theatres or at major tourist amusement parks.  People are spending money left and right.  I don't think a mere $4 a gallon is fazing them too much.

  18. Lesson one.

    Never protest without a solution.

    Lesson two.

Why waste time under the hot sun.

    Lesson three.

Why let little children  know one is climbing up the coconut trees with self lack of knowledge.

    Luke 6.39-40,41-45,46-49

    What do you think?

  19. as foir the gas, its really not the gov. fault, oil, obviosly, is a non renuable sesource that we're lacking lately. But im totally with you about the food

  20. Simple answer...people have not reached the point where they can't take it anymore.

  21. The best way to protest is through the power of the consumer.

Buy less of it.  As much as possible.

You vote for companies with your dollar everyday.  I understand the dependency, but if everyone cuts back, imagine the decrease in consumption... oil companies not as profitable.

Marching is symbolic I will say that.  But it really isn't a proactive way of settling things in the long run.

I ride a bike when I can, try to work locally, eat more unprocessed foods.  Stopped paying 3 to 4 bucks for chips and started eating the frozen veggie packs from the freezer section.  I stopped buying coffee.. I stopped buying cokes (unnecessary calories)... I stopped buying milk because it is ridden with hormones and antibiotics anyway.  Green vegetables are a better source of calcium too.  I use a body bar for my hair and all... and a decent conditioner (hair is a lot healthier without sulfate surfectants anyway).  We grow a garden in the back yard.  We stopped eating out and take a picnic somewhere.  The nephew seems to like it better when we go to the park anyway.

  22. You should pay more attention to international news.

    Protests are happening worldwide!

  23. I don't think protests would be very effective. That's one reason the thought never came to mind. I drive less, and my next vehicle's going to be much more fuel efficient so I'll buy less gas.  That works for me. It probably won't for you so you should start some activism and see where it goes.

  24. Dont worry gas and food riots will happen soon

  25. This ain't France... that's why

  26. It is the consumers fault, not the gov....stop driving gas guzzling cars and trucks, two hour commutes to work,  big homes, wasteful products. and if you want to protest.. then against the environmentalists that have stopped oil drilling and nuclear plant building

  27. We could only protest for alternative energy -- which I'll admit I think our government should have made top priority in the 70s after the gas shortage and the violent attacks that were rampant across the globe by Middle Eastern terrorist.  But how can you protest India, China and Russia creating more successful economies?
