Why aren't women allowed to ride in the Grand National?

Like in National velvet. I know that she rode in it but immediately after they found out that she was a girl they immediately tried to disqualify her.

  1. During the time that National Velvet was set women were not socially acceptable to be jockeys on the flat or over jumps. Also during that time, as now, jocks need to be licened, and she was not, she went into the race under a false name and that is considered cheating.

    ive only seen the film once,but are you sure she didnt ride in it?

    Im still waiting for the all womens softball team to let me play, but I guess they fear me.

    If you would ck on the riders recenty  like in the last 15 yrs, You will see a girl in it ,,

    It takes Tons of heart and & a million pounds of GUTS to ride in it ,

    And yes some might not have won ,,
