Why aren't you allowed to talk on a cell phone while flying?

I never knew what the actual reason was.

On small planes the signal from a cell phone will disrupt the instruments.

On commercial flights it is just annoying and people don't want to hear it.

because the satellites  in the plane will catch on to the phone signals and  can cause the plane to crash
