  1. It is because before the eclipse is full, there is still sunlight entering your eye. Haven't you ever started a fire with a magnifying glass? Your eyes have lenses in them also. If you look directly into the sun, your eye's lens is focusing the suns rays on the back of your eye. There is a chance that you will burn your retina. The resulting scarring could leave you with blind spots.

  2. Total Solar Eclipse is OK to look at, as long as the whole of the sun is covered by the moon. But if there's any part of the sun showing, it will be too bright for your eyes and might damage them.

What people usually do is get some dark sunglasses, or a dark lens filter to look at the sun with. You can also use a hole in a piece of paper to project the image of the eclipse onto something else.

  3. you don't look at it because you will burn your retinas. which could make you go blind, just like the sun.

  4. because it myt be irritating for one's eyes if he/she look at the solar eclipse, also there is the presence of the sun...

  5. because it will hurt your eyes, you can look at it through a basin full of water but you shouldn't look at it.

  6. You will damage your eyes if you look at the sun at any time without eye protection, not just during a solar eclipse. The reason that warnings are given about eclipses is because more people are likely to be looking at the sun during an eclipse and because people can be fooled into thinking that the more of the sun is covered up, the less harmful it will become. This is not the case. Ultraviolet light from even a small sliver of the sun's surface can damage your eyesight. The only time it's safe to look at the sun without eye protection is during totality, when the corona will be visible. Viewing the corona during totality is not harmful.
