I saw a listing online of all the names of the different demons. What would have happened if I had said one aloud?

  1. It's called 'invocation'. By saying their name with intent, they can be invoked into this realm...

I reckon most of 'em are quite harmless when you compare them to all the Evil Humans inhabiting (past and present) our planet...

  2. I am certain that nothing would really happen.  If you wanted to get a demon's attention then all you would have to do is go into a house that is presumed to be haunted.  Then you would just have to call to those spirits and ask if anyone is there.  I still wouldn't try doing that, because demons are not people you want to mess with.

  3. All of those demons you saw are no different than any other invented mythological creature.  Leprechauns (sorry paranermal) are no more real than they are.  The same people who invented these characters also invented the rules surrounding them.  They have created Bogey Men who will come and get you if you say their names.  Just like Candy Man, Bloody Mary and Beetlejuice.  This is all fiction.  It's a fabrication created to scare and control people.

  4. i dont think anything would happen

  5. Nothing if you read the Old Testament out loud you will be saying many demons names.

  6. Nothing is likely to happen if you simply utter their name. You may attract a variety of negative attention, but you won't actually summon the demon. That often takes at least drawing up the demon's sigil, but normally also lengthy and complex rituals on top of that.

  7. who knows...the forces of nature.

might be that everytime you hear someone die, or something bad happened, a demon name was mentioned.

  8. What are their names.I'll gladly recite them.If they show up.Why, I'll punch them right in the nose.If they have one.

  9. Since demons do not exist, uttering one's name in the belief that it will return from the beyond will just make you feel silly

  10. You mean like the movie Beetlejuice, where you had to say his name 3 times to release him?  Well, not to worry, it's just myth and movie folklore. If demons actually existed, and it were really that simple to summon them, we'd have tons of evidence for demon activity accumulated by now. However, we have none.

Even if demons existed (e.g., in the Judeo-Christian belief system), it would still be rather silly to think that merely saying the name of a demon will give it some kind of power. Wouldn't that be a silly way for God to run the universe? I'd think that he'd have more wisdom than that.
