I hear it is being done in other places around the world.

Natural gas is plentiful and our own compressors could "fill er up" overnight while its sitting in the garage.

  1. It's kind of like the "Chicken Vs the Egg" question...  There is little demand for natural gas powered automobiles, because there are few places where you can get the fuel tank filled.  There are few places to get your fuel tank filled, because there are only a handfull of automobiles that need this service.  Both technologies need to be developed simultaneously.

Remember, it's taken over 100 years to bring the corner gasoline service station/convenience store to it's current state of development.  When automobiles first hit the roads, people used to have to buy gasoline in 1-gallon cans from their local pharmacies!

  2. gas may be plentiful in your house after a night of mexican but it is not a sustainable source for long periods of time.  ie a replacement fuel source for the next 50 years.
