  1. It is if you wash them and reuse them in your home. I put things like screws, nails, beads or other small things in them. What we can't recycle we should reuse.

  2. We dont  have that particlar technology yet only in Europe. Marks & sparks do a pretty good vanilla yoghurt smoothie though.

  3. A plastic is a polymer + additives. The recycling of plastics is very difficult because of all the additives that go into them (pigments, stabilisers etc) they are hard to seperate. Thermoset plastics are practically impossible to recycle (stuff that doesn't melt, like kitchen utensils) Scientists are very sceptical about the whole idea of it because of these reasons and more.  There's even rumours that most of the plastic we put out for recycling isn't actually recycled anyway (they ship it to China according to my chemistry lecturer!) I guess this yoghurt brand is actually just telling the truth for once.

  4. It is because local councils will not recycle them because not company wants to buy them recycled plastic. It is not strong enough apparently.

  5. It is a thinner type of material but the main thing I think is that yoghurt is live.  Would that be the reason do you think?  That it could contaminate the recycling?

I thought that Muller did a vanilla flavour (previous answerer)

Bout time they sorted the recycling out, I agree, there is more plastic wastage than re usable.  Also the plastic trays that hold meat.  Often these are the same.

  6. AND why dont they make a yogurt in the UK that is Vanilla flavoured? i dont want natural, i dont want fruit in it, i want vanilla... Thats what im wondering...

As for the recycling, i guess we just have to wait...

  7. Don't know which part of the country you are in, but my local council's have been taking them for ages.

Vanilla Yoghurts have been available for AGES.
