  1. Soaps can leave a very fine deposit in the pot.  Over time this can seriously affect the taste quality of the coffee.  Also some residues can react with the coffee.  Rinse the coffee pot in warm water.  Every now and then rinse it with warm water with some vinegar added to it.  Leave it sit for about half hour and pour out.  Rinse again with warm water.  This should get rid of any stains in the pot.

  2. Ditto due to film build up.

Add citric acid or vinegar to clean and de-scale coffee pot then rinse a few times with hot water.

    Good luck!

  3. I don't know. I do know that to clean the inside (guts) of the coffee maker, mix white vinegar and water, and run it through, then run several pots of straight water through to rinse. your coffee maker will last longer. the part that holds the brewed coffee can be washed in the sink with dish soap and water.

  4. it leaves a thin film inside the pot, that will taint the flavor of your coffee. glass pots, use salt and crushed ice swirled to clean with a cold water wrinse. with stainless, try lemon juice to remove stains and oxidation, cold water wrinse. for aluminum, use two teaspoons of cream of tartar mixed with warm water to soak overnight, wrinse out with cold water. this is the method used in restaurants and hotels..
