i have recently flown to crete..this side i had a can of cola to drink ..it was taken from me at the baggage check ..okay ..i got through the baggage check and what could i buy a bottle of cola..same brand etc..why was it taken from me..okay if it's because of the liquid..it was sealed and the same type of liquid i could buy after the check..maybe it was the tin..no okay tins are a potential weapon...but the glass bottle could also be used as a weapon with more effect..they asked if i have sharp instruments in the bag like nail files etc .that could be used as a weapon on the plane ..so why do they serve the drinks on the plane in glasses..admitedly in business class ..but all the same do they think highjackers are only going to use 2-3 class seats..very strange..don't you thnk..i think they collect all these drinks and things for airport staff to use in the rest rooms..

  1. They wont allow you to bring liquid through the security checks as it was possible for liquids smuggled through to be combined into an explosive mixture....I suppose they presume that all the liquids on the other side of the security checks are all OK...nothing to do with the glass or the tin.

  2. Ah, no airport staff don't use confiscated items in the restrooms. That would be taking them through security which they just prevented you from doing. It's one of those rules that gets ridiculous because everyone has to be treated the same. If they are going to take a suspicious bottle of liquid from a suspicious character they must take your bottled water too. You know our specialty in this country lately is "fairness".

  3. It is not the type of container that is in question here....its the liquids!!

It does still state in all airports that you can only take liquids in small amounts; 100ml or less, and should be in clear containers. Obviously, the drinks that they serve on the plane have already been security checked. I take it you don't fly very often....otherwise, you would have been well aware of the rules and regulations, and why they have been put in place!

  4. i know what u mean! fair enough there are saftey checks in place but i bet airport vendors are rubbing their gready little hands together, coz now you have to buy twice as much when it is already rele expensive! when i flew to poland recently i bought a starbucks coffee and a muffin and it cost me nearly £7.50! what a rip off!
