Why baggy jeans? Why?

Why were baggy jeans so popular in the 90's. During my impressionable days back then I of course loved them.

My reasoning, along with many other people's was "I just want to be comfortable."

But that reasoning is False! If only i could've seen it then - you SWIM in baggy jeans. The bottom part gets wet in the rain, muddy and destroyed. Looking back they weren't comfortable at all, it was just what was available and everyone was wearing them.

Apparently they are coming back in style - i don't believe it.

I like jeans to fit well, they don't have to be incredibly slim, but whenever something fits well it looks good, that's obvious. Baggy jeans Never fitted well - what was going on?

Why does anything become a fad? Bell bottoms? Polyester suits?

Humans are mostly followers. If we see someone influential doing or wearing something, we usually follow along. There have been endless comedy skits about people putting ridiculous stuff on (like a toilet seat hat) and creating a new trend.

I always thought the baggy pants fad was a good thing. If their pants fall down to their ankles, there's a good chance of them tripping and falling into traffic and encouraging natural selection.

used to be a persons pants were too big because they were hand me downs. I never liked the look myself and never dated anyone who wore them..I like  the guys in regular jeans where you can see their  butt shape not the underwear or but crack - gross, as far as the pants falling off your butt look....gross...fads are fads ....and still continue wheather they fit or not....look at all the girls with their fat stomachs hanging out because they think low cut jeans are for them ...gross  

there are many jeans in many styles/shapes/sizes just like body types....that is where you go to see what really looks good ( hides the flaws) so dont go with the flow...be yourself   buy what fits you .

Baggy jeans aren't coming back into style. Skinny jeans are what's hot right now!

its just a fad. if one persondoes it so will everyone else. theres no rhyme or reason. like look at leggings there ugly and not too flattering but yet everyone wears them. or especially leggings and long shirt that barely cover your *** like seriously ! thats sooo rediculious
