Why be politically correct?

Question

So what I dont understand is the kick with being politically correct. I think people dont realize that you will NEVER make everyone happy. I think everyone is so concerned with hurting someone else's feelings that they often forget what they believe in and what offends them. It's simple things like not failing kids in schools: that's life you will not always succeed and someone out there is always better. No one in this life will ever be completely pleased, and I for one am not going to waste time not trying to step on any toes.

what are your thoughts on politically correct terms and why do you think that people are on this kick?

I think basic respect for everyone is necessary, but many people go overboard on this.

i commend you.politicallycorrect means to do what is wrong.im 78yrs.old.when the country was young you got the job you were suited for.you earned it.you were the better choice,the job was yours.today the better man dont get the job.its who you are that gets you the job.the system is warping our  mind.the bible has the answer. were in the days of corruption.all have gone there own way.s***w the other guy.right will be wrong.wrong will be right.thats politically correct.keep your thougts to your self.if you dont like it.thats to bad.now its a law.we dont understand it.but they will let you know when you break it.now the ones that break the law as a daily life style.it does not apply to them.do you get where im going.i could spell it out.but that wont be politically correct.if you want to do something wrong.no problem.we se it happen every day.all over the country.now you want to do something right.now you have a problem.it goes on and on.backwards.

It's not necessarily a "kick" that everyone is on... it's more that people are so afraid of offending someone that the go out of their way to be as inoffensive as possible.  And can you really blame them, as sue-happy as our country is anymore?
