  1. Nice Question again

    3 and maybe 2

3- Big names in cricket, don't want to tarnish there cricketing reputation by going into coaching. What i mean by this is that someone like Ian Botham, a player who is loved by fans and other cricketers alike, BUT if he went to coach the England side and failed then fans last memory of a legend like botham would be of him failing !!!. So the easy option for them is to go into journalism work, and make money for doing what they love. OR by going behind the scenes and selecting players

2 can be true as well, some great players DON'T make great coaches, they may not have the man-management required or the skills.

  2. Coaching require specialised skill amnd most of our former cricketers have not mastered the same.

  3. Usually you are appreciated and valued more...aborad !

  4. I go with 4, they are never asked, the BCCI wont let someoen like kapil dev become coach maybe coz he might become something like vice captain or something.

    ^_^

  5. BCCI Administrators dont want Indians as coach of India team.

  6. 7. coaching is kinda thankless job and they know that they might dissolve their hard earned big name into sticky wet clay by doing this thanklss job. As you know we know Greg Chappel as a loser after Ganguly Saga and great Indian team premature exit from WC, Ganguly proved Mr. Chappel as totally misinformed and bundled up coach and human being!!

whenever Chappel's name will come he will be remembered as an ugly coach of India and not as a good cricketer with big name!!

hope it helps, people like gavaskar and kapil dev are smart enough to know this!!

  7. The greatest brains don't go for teaching. They go to industry and research. It is the second tier who go to teaching and coaching. Take the case of Dav Whatmore. He played just 7 test matches (293 runs, 13 catches) and 1 ODI (just 2 runs) but is known to be a good coach ! Leave the greats alone.

  8. they don't have time and also they don't like these kind of jobs.

  9. They don't want to get into politics.

There is a lot of politics in Cricket.

And now a politician is a BCCI head. And how badly is managing BCCI.

  10. They all become commentators and journalists

  11. I cant blame them if they value their lives! lol

  12. none and not sure about other
