  1. In my opinion the reason for so much division in this country is the label of political correctness.

    "African-American"

    "Asian-American"

    "Mexican-American" as a few examples

or whatever other addage people want to tag on to American to make sure people know where they came from.

  2. If you think of yourselves as Americans first, then it probably would help.

  3. I don't understand it either. Most black people in America are AMERICAN.That then should be their nationality.

  4. I'm not sure, but I would assume that many do. The military service members I served with certainly did and they put their life on the line.

America has hyphenated itself into a completely divided nation. Being born in the US or becoming a naturalized citizen earns you the right to be called an American.

Hyphenated people are confused in my opinion. You don't see it in any other first world country.

  5. I'm not black but i think it's becuase of the way the nation has treated black people throughout history i'm mexican born and raised in the u.s but i don't feel american because i see racism against mexicans everywhere.

  6. The young ones.

Even after they were born and raised in Ameirca.

    Still short-changed themselves as African.

    When they were American.

Should be proud as descendant of American.

    No longer African.

When their history of their descendant were in America.

    No longer in Africa.

Not as tribe of different community.

    What do you think?

  7. We do have a sense of nationality.

You should read "Message To The Blackman in America by The Honorable Elijah Muhammad.

  8. I would say it it because the Africans that sold your family to the Caucasians did not feel out a birth certificate so you would know what African Tribe or state your from.

  9. I think it goes beyond of being black .Im a African who happen to be black in America , I was so shocked when ,I got here in  USA ,black AND white will have the long way to go to be equal , here in America the blacks the own nothing , all major positions are owned by whites , head of schools , government position ,businness , good jobs, all that belongs to whites people, so blacks fells like they own nothing to proud  being  American.

  10. All the black people I know (other than Jamaicans) consider themselves Americans.
