Why budgies {(parakeets) female} nose gets red ????????

Is it because of its breeding season?

what does it mean when it becomes red ?

Do they lay eggs in winter season or during this season????

HELP !!!!!!!!

  1. Hi,

    I don't think that your budgies cere is red probably a crusty brown. But anyway it means that shes ready to breed and in breeding condition.


  2. Most female budgies' cere is tan or crusty brown, often unwell budgies have blue ceres because the brown bit has fallen off. Albinos or light coloured budgies have a pink cere because of lack of pigment. Babies may have pink ceres because they are not fully mature yet. The budgie breeding season is spring/ summer.

    she might be a baby and still immature.

    budgies' cere changes color until they mature.....

  4. I think it is rough brown instead of red cause' they are really alike. She is in mating season and she is ready to mate.
