Because you NEED an AUDIO amp too ! And speakers...and wire....and you may not have enough room for it all.....

So that's why TVs still exist....

Because LCD Monitors larger than 25" are far more expensive than a TV of similar size.

Some old LCD monitors may only have analog DVI support and they usually don't have enough ports to connect all you need: set-top, DVD player, VCR, etc.
