My guess would be to raise more awareness about Earth Hour. Think about it if it was during Earth Day  then people would lump  both together. They wouldnt recognize it as much maybe  Its all about publicity. Earth Hour is only In its second year so they did it that way. h**l i dont know lol My idea makes sense to me though
