Why can't China get rid of the Soviet-style goose-steps?

  1. Its for show, although odd, I did find it curious.

    However in battle I don't think goose-steping is done by any army.


  2. it's only when they're raising the flag..

    the guys you saw at the opening ceremony are the same people that do this everyday at tian an men.

    it's like the changing of the guard in london. it's just for show. but i think it looks cool.  

  3. Funny.  I equate goose-stepping with n***s, not communists.

    Some things do not have the same symbolic meaning, in one country as in another.  For example, I was astonished to see swastikas on vegetarian restaurant signs.  Many people wear swastika symbols in jewelry in Taiwan.

    It has nothing to do with fascism.  The "swastika" is a Buddhist symbol--the footprint of a dove, It symbolizes the intention to lead a virtuous life.

    Leave it be.
