Question:

Why can't I access Google?

For the past 2 days, I have been unable to go on Google.com, my Google homepage, run a Google search, or access my Gmail or Orkut. Every other site works fine. My internet connection is running fine. Overall, my computer is working great, EXCEPT that I can't reach Google!

When I go to Google.com, it loads for a few minutes and then comes up with a "can't access this page" type of thing. I have tried on both Internet Explorer and Firefox. I have cable/broadband, so its not the connection. The same thing is happening on my sister's computer. She also had it as her homepage, and she can access any other site. We are connected to the same network, but different PCs.

How can I fix this??

  1. well Google is up and running so maybe they banned you . if not maybe you are using another country's Google and obviously it may not let you in if you ave a gmail connected to your country or it could be you are thinking you typing Google and one of your keys are down and your not. last thing i can think of is maybe your proxys for that server are wrong ,try changing them, check your wireless router settings two.

  2. It might be you accidently blocked the sight using your antivirus software.

  3. Found on the internet:

    "The Solution

Here’s what few users who encountered the problem has done and it helps regain connection to Google. Turn of your modem and router for like 10 seconds and reconnect.

It did not work for me, but it somehow recovered after 20 minutes. So if you are encountering the same problem, try the solution above or just relax for half an hour or so. The problem’s not with you."
