Question:

Why can't I appoint myself royalty?

I suppose the majority of royalty is selfappointed.

Which leads to another question:

Why can't I appoint myself royalty?

Actually I can, but why would nobody recognise me as such?

What are the conditions to be recognised as royalty by others?

  1. As others said, you'd have to take over a country.  I can't think of any European monarchs that aren't somewhat closely related to the others so I daresay you'd have quite a fight on your hands!  It'd be best to pick a country with a monarch but few friends, build up an army, take over and then declare yourself king.

  2. Good Question...

  3. get fame.

get people's attention, get trust, get money.

that's a lot of hard work...

  4. If you have sufficient money you can buy yourself into royalty. If you have sufficient military force, you can declare yourself royal and force everyone to accept it. These are the origins of all royal lineages.

  5. You could buy an island...., but the subjects would be seagulls, but that is a start.
