Question:

Why can't I conceive??

I haven't been able to get pregnant for about five or six years now. (Me and my partner have s*x regularly and we've never used any sort of protection against pregnancy.) And I've never been to the doctor about this, because I have no health insurance... yet.

Until then, I'm searching for answers on the web.

So, I don't know, what do you guys think? Any list of ideas would be great.

  1. YOU REALLY NEED TO SEE A DOCTOR HES THE ONLY ONE THAT COULD HELP ON THAT BECAUSE THAT'S BEEN A LONG TIME.IT SHOULD NOT BE THAT EXPENSIVE TO A SEE DOCTOR. IF YOU NEED TREATMENTS YOU WILL NEED INSURANCE. THOSE TREATMENTS ARE EXPENSIVE.

  2. There are Millions or reasons why women can't get pregnant. Theres are things like Ovarian Cysts. Endometriosis, Uterine scarring. Theres also a 50% chance its not you it may be your partner with the problem.

No one here can give you an answer and theres no point self diagnosing.

You need to see your GP.

  3. Some dos and don’ts for getting pregnant

Do limit movement after intercourse.  Standing up after intercourse can cause the s***n to leak out.  Try to wait twenty minutes after s*x before getting up and moving around.

Do try to keep the sperm inside your v****a longer.  You can hold the labia together to try to keep the sperm inside of you.  You can also try putting a pillow under your pelvis to help tilt your body so the sperm can travel upwards easier.

Do try to make s*x enjoyable.  Sometimes when a couple is trying to conceive it will affect the quality of their s*x life.  More enjoyable s*x means higher sperm count and better “swimmers”.

Do limit intercourse and male masturbation prior to the days you are trying to conceive.  It will help to increase the man’s sperm count and improve your chances of getting pregnant.

Do take prenatal vitamins if you are trying to conceive.  Folic acid and other vitamins are very important during the first trimester of pregnancy.

Don’t drink alcohol or use drugs at the time of conception.  This applies to both the male and female.  There is strong evidence that alcohol can effect your chances of getting pregnant.

Don’t douche after having intercourse.  It can wash out the sperm that has just entered your body.

Don’t have oral s*x prior to intercourse.  There is some evidence that the bacteria in the mouth can cause damage to male sperm.

Don’t have anal s*x prior to intercourse.  Bacteria in the anas can be carried into the v****a from the man’s p***s.  If you do have anal s*x before intercourse, make sure your partner washes his p***s first.

If you have been trying to conceive for over a year please consult a doctor.  You may need to have tests run or use fertility treatments.

  4. there are other things that you need to think about what foods you eat and vitamins. if you eat fish cut back because of the Mercury vitamins c make sure you are taking the correct amount they say 2 much is not good when  trying to conceive, also a male should release them selves every 5 days at least cause the sperm start to get sluggish and don't have enough energy to get where they need to go. avoid oral s*x bacteria in saliva can kill sperm cells, doggie is one best position for trying to conceiving cause penetration is greater less for sperm to travel. there is also something with the guy about folic acid but don't remember what that is. drink plenty of water increases vaginal fluids cut back on pop or coffee hope this helped

  5. Have you tried the basic ways to monitor your fertility, such as taking your temperature, monitoring your cervical position and cervical fluid, using OPKS etc?

Get hold of a copy of "Taking Charge of your Fertility" by Toni Wechsler - it explains everything you need to know about fertility awareness.

This should give you some idea of whether you are actually ovulating.

There are many reasons why you might not have conceived.  Maybe you are not ovulating.  Maybe one or both of your tubes are blocked. Maybe your husband has a low or absent sperm count.  Unfortunately, many of these things can only be detected by having medical tests such as blood tests, sperm analysis, ultrasound, HSG etc.

I live in the UK and had these procedures done on the NHS (National Health Service), which told us that I was basically OK except for minimal endometriosis and my hubby had a low sperm count.  We still managed to conceive 4 months after having a laparoscopy and dye.

The only thing I can suggest to you is to start fertility charting and monitor your cycle.  This should at least give you some idea if you are actually ovulating and you can make sure you make love at your most fertile time, even if your hubby does have a low sperm count, this will up your chances.

    Good luck.

  6. i have had the same problem as u no baby for the past 6 years however i did just stop smoking 8 months and and about 1 1/2 months ago i cut caffeine out of my diet completely and i dont drink or do drugs u can buy a male fertility test kit at a drug store to see if he is the reason ur not getting pregnant also if u do smoke please be aware that smokin causes 50% of infertility so u should quit sooner then later i also started to loose weight because i am a little over weight and that can be another reason ur not getting pregnant. i do wish u the best in ur trying and hope everything goes well good luck
