Why can't I connect to my wireless network @ home?

ok, so my boyfriend set up this wireless internet at home that worked fine for his computer, and mine, and then out of no where, it stopped working. I can log in to other unsecured networks close to my house but i can't log in to my own.... help. please give instructions, and don't use too much lingo bc i won't know what ur talking about.

Recalibrate the flux capacitor! (just kidding).

Power cycle your stuff first. Unplug your router, and unplug your modem. Wait 30 seconds, plug in your modem and wait for the DSL or Cable light to become solid. Just to be on the safe side wait about 1 minute. Plug in your router and wait about a minute and try.
