Question:

Why can't I download the expansion packs for Impossible Creatures?

So IC (Impossible Creatures) is a pretty fun game that some of my friends and I are into. We recently found some official expansions to download, here:

http://www.microsoft.com/games/impossiblecreatures/downloads.aspx

While my friend got one of the extra downloads (or more, I'm not sure), I'm unable to get even one. I'm using Firefox and Vista on a newer laptop (about a year old). I go to the site, click the link, and the download starts. When it's done, I go to computer > C drive, and to the downloads. Previously, when I downloaded things, they would be saved to the desktop. This is the first case in which I had to go into my memory to retrieve a download; I don't know if this is something with my updated version of Firefox, or the download itself. Anyway, I now extract the files. One of the downloads I tried (V1.1 download) said that I was missing a program needed to complete the extraction. The other download that I extract goes through, but when the window pops up with the extracted files, I click on them and there are errors. I try playing the game, and the updates aren't evident.

What's the problem? If you need more information, I'll edit it in.

  1. Yeah, I know what you mean, I think its Vista's fault. Mine ran cool on XP, but I Upgraded and now it won't. Sorry =( And as for the downloads, they should be in the download folder. Go to the main folder, then downloads if you know what I mean. The main folder is the equivalent to My Documents on XP, but the folder will be named after you. Hope all this helps
