Question:

Why can't I find a round-trip cruise to alaska?

I've been searching and I can find trips from Seattle to points in Alaska, and I can find other cruises with the return route, but I haven't been able to find a week-long cruise that goes the full route. I've even tried departing from Vancouver instead of Seattle with the same result.

  3. Most cruise lines depart from both. I know that;

    www.NCL.com

    www.Princess.com

    www.Holland America.com

    These all have 7 days round trip along with with several others.  If you continue to have problems calll 1-800- Princess.

    Good Luck

  4. The third cruise for alaska is roundtrip from Seattle

  5. Its because the ships travel from North to South (and vice-versa) along the inside passage and across the Gulf of Alaska to Sitka and then towards either Seward or Whittier (which are the closest ports to Anchorage Airport) There simply isnt the time to travel all this distance and return in one week

    You may have better luck at the beginning and end of each season, because the weather is pretty bad in the Gulf the ships usually do a circuit from either Vancouver or Seattle. On some cruises the ship will go right into Glacier Bay to get up close to the glaciers, but you have to be really lucky with the weather at that time of year

  6. hello,

  7. I would do Princess if I had the option because their Alaska travel service is amazing. Best way to do it is there are some insides that are right by the door to the deck. Otherwise splurge for a balcony but know you will be freezing your butt off.

    Look for cruises that do the inside passage also.
